Where's the best shopping in NYC for designer clothing&accesories? I've been to Century21, and I love it. I'm planning to go to Macy's, and definitely 5th Avenue & Soho Any other must-see places? Or any specific stores on 5th or Soho? Is there any like good places for bargains on designer wear? And I'm not interested in Chinatown, as I've been there plenty of times.

where can I get bargains on designer clothes in NYC? I'm heading there tomorrow and I want to try to find some bargains on designers like marc jacobs, and diesel and others. Where's the best shopping in the New York City area? I'm planning a two day shopping trip. I'm looking for designer shoes at discount prices, designer outlet stores, fun shops. What are some "don't miss" shopping experiences in NY? I'm interested in specific stores for bargains. For example, I know about the Marc Jacobs stores on Bleecker Street and Century 21 near the World Trade Center. What are some others?
What is the most secure designer brand online shopping website? I wanted to buy wallet and I've browsed through the internet and found a few website that sells branded wallets (such as gucci or fendi). I was wondering do you know the reliable website for that? I found http://www.edesignershop.net/ and dont know if they are reliable. Because it would be such a bargain if I can buy fendi wallet for only $150. p.s. it has to be australian base so they can send it to my home. Much appreciated! thanks a lot
Bargain hunters come forth and help me find the perfect designer prom dress!? hi i live in the uk and am obsessed with designer clothes. only problem is of course, i can't afford it! but normally i can buy a few vivienne westwood/mcq/comme des garcons clothes when they're in the sale or whatever. prom is this summer, and i would just love a really unique beautiful dress to go in. i've tried looking on sites like yoox and my-wardrobe, but they don't seem to have anything suitable for prom in my price range (no more than £200 really). i have quite pale skin but dark hair, so i think a darker colour like navy or violet would be best, but any suggestions would be great! so if anyone has any ideas of where i can buy a designer prom dress at a bargain price, let me know. or an actual dress they think would look good. i'm a uk size 8 btw. online and shops are great thanks. (and please no one leave comments how i'm superficial or looking for a perfect dress at an impossible dress - just try to help:p) thankyou xx
Can't Remember The Name Of A Bargain Store in NYC? A couple days ago, maybe 2 or 3, I saw a story on AOL.com that listed the best restaurant and shopping in various cities including NY. For NYC they suggested a store in Manhattan on the East side cant remember if it was Upper of Lower. The name of the store started with a B i believe but could be wrong. They said the store had great discount designer shopping, recieving overstock from Bergdorf Goodman and other stores. Anybody know what I'm talking about? would love some help here!
Can anyone recommend a list of good stores to shop at in Houston's Harwin District? I'm originally from Houston, but I've never been shopping in Harwin. I'm coming into town for a week to bargain shop for bridesmaid dresses and other things for my wedding. I'll be going with a group of my girl friends, and I'd like to make a day of shopping down there. Where can you find cheap designer purses and sunglasses? Also what about those bed-in-a-bag sets? Thanks in advance!
Living in los angeles, knowing where to shop for a bargain in downtown!? I'm trying to save money and I've noticed that jewelry sold on the streets of downtown (alley) are usually the same thing sold at the mall. However, I want to know where in downtown I can find clothes for a bargain, but that doesn't look cheap. If you can tell me the streets where I can find them. Also, I want to know where I can find fake designer handbags that look real! Thanks!

How much should I expect to spend on a replica/fake Louis Vuitton handbag in China if I bargain very well? I am going to Beijing in four days and am looking to do a lot of shopping there. I am going to go on a replica designer gear shopping spree, so would like to ask about a few things. Around what price ranges (in RMB) should I expect to pay for designer handbags? I want to buy, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Chanel etc. If someone knows a prince range for any of those brands that would be awesome! Also, how about shoes? I don't mind what designers shoes are, but I love Christian Louboutin. Do they sell replicas of them there? And what about clothes? Remember, the prices should be after bargaining with the shopkeepers. Sorry it's so much! If you can answer any parts of my questions even if it's just one that's fine!
What are the top ten things to do in Dubai? I am travelling to Dubai for one week at the end of July. I want as much information as possible about the best things to do and see in Dubai. I would also be grateful for any other tips, as well as names of the best (reasonably priced) shopping areas. Is there any place where I can get a bargain, like fake designer stuff etc? Is there anything I need to be warned about? Any traveller safety tips etc? I would be most grateful if you could share your experiences of Dubai. Also, if there is any reasonably priced FOUR star hotel that you could recommend, I would appreciate it if u could let me know the name and address. Many thanks.
Can you bargain for a lower price at a store like Loehmanns? So there's this designer bag for $299 at Loehmanns and it has been sitting there FOREVER (I know this because I have checked periodically) and it never goes on sale. Is there a way I can talk the manager into lowering the price? Because honestly, it's such a strange bag that I think no one will buy because everyone that shops there have absolutely dreadful taste in fashion and would rather spend 299 on a juicy couture velour tracksuit

What is the best thing or biggest bargain that you have purchased in a charity shop? Now I often to to charity shops to look for books/CDs and have picked up some really good, often out of print stuff. There is also a fantastic furniture/electrical charity shop near me which has some interesting items. Also in London in places like Kensington there are special Oxfam shops with designer dresses etc. So what is the best item you have found? All: Good to see your answers. Its strange, charity shops are now seen as "cool" and good for the environment. When I was little I used to dread somone knowing a jumper for example was from a charity shop as other kids would laugh for ever more and potentially punch you. I am always on the look out for a really nice leather jacket which has been worn in. You pay a fortune for this "distressed leather" new. lol Aurora - Shame on your daughter!

I am trying to compile a list of good places to shop online for cutesy kids' clothing.? I am an aunt, not a mom, so I don't mind shopping at places that aren't super bargains because they are only occasional splurge purchases, not everyday expenses for me:) That said, I realize that kids grow out of things fast, so I don't want to shop at stupidly expensive designer places! I am looking for online shops only because I don't live in the same area as my niece and nephew. Looking for infant, toddler, and/or preschooler sizes. (My nephew is 8 mos and my niece is almost 5 years old.) Serious emphasis on cutesy required:) Here are the places I shop now (in order of preference so you get an idea of what I am looking for): Gymboree (my current fave... more like this would be great!) Children's Place Gap Amazon eBay Old Navy Thanks for your help! Also, links to the places would be great. Thanks!!!

Would you be caught dead in a thrift store? In Australia we call them op shops. I personally was embarassed to go in one in high school but last year I managed to make a bit of money out of them (finding designer jeans etc) and now I go there for the thrill of finding a bargain. Why spend $100 on my jeans when I can get some for $5 good as new : )

I see so many teens drop so much on designers...but is it really worth it? and are there any girls out there like me and who would rather bargain shop at Marshalls(and similar stores)? Ladies would you wear this formal ladies shirt? Thomas Pink a top designer shirt maker are selling this ladies shirt for just £29 and it comes in red or blue: http://www.thomaspink.co.uk/uk/product-details/?40100554P2R (you can click no the shirt image to zoom in). Usually women say this type of shirt is to masculine etc but I have to say I think it would look both smart and feminine with a nice skirt and heels. Perfect for the office when buttoned up, or would look nice worn with jeans to go out shopping or to cinema and so on. Lots of guys think shirts on women are sexy, the white collar and white french cuffs look very smart and elegant! Red or blue I would certainly love to see my girlfriend wearing this shirt. It is a bargain to get a designed shirt like that for £29 if you ask me! A few responses to comments so far: Yes I have asked a similar question before but for a different shirt (check my Q's)! Yes the collar is quite high and constrictive for a lady perhaps but doesn't that also appeal a little? (it is good to be different to sometimes)

Do you enjoy vintage shopping? I love going to opshops and finding bargains, it gives me a real thrill, especially when i find designer items.. I've picked up an authentic Louis Vuitton bag for $7, I found a 1960s Kelly bag that i brought for $50 (so would not pay $7000 for one of them today), brand new clothes with their tags still attached can go for as cheap as $1.00 on wednesdays in my area My friends all rekon im crazy for buying something pre-loved, but at the end of the day i think their the ones missing out. They'll end up with a $20 chainstore bag, while I end up with a $7 designer bag because its second hand anyway, who else likes doing this?
Is there a limit how much Renmimbi I can take in ? Hi, i'm travelling to China tomorrow, and I would like to know if there is any limit to how much renmimbi I can take with me? Besides personal expenses, I have to take RMB 5000 for my company use .. is this below the limit ? Also, I'll be staying 5 days in Shenzhen .. how much would i need for personal expenses ? As i'm working on 3 days .. i have 2 days to go shopping and explore, how much would i need roughly ? I plan to buy some clothes, not really designer brands .. but bargain buys or fake designer labels .. how much do these typically cost? Thanks in advance.
I'm so mad, craigslist scammer wasted my time and money! Just need to vent...? I wanted to buy somethin designer and was told to meet up at a certain shopping center. Got there right on time but the seller was late. Then the seller called me and ended up being on the other side of town at a different shopping center. No problem I said, I'll come there. So I went all the way and the seller wouldnt pick up the phone or return my messages or texts. Wasted my whole day driving around and finished my gas driving from one side of the city to the next then back home. The seller text me later and said lets meet tommorow yet wont pick up the phone when I call to find out what time and where. Is this person tryin to play with my head? I am so frustrated and had my heart set on buying this designer piece at a bargain price. Any of you guys experienced this? Should I just forget it or should I try callin the seller again tommorow...Ive already called the seller several times tonight and left a message, got no reply :(
How can I convince my mother...? that I'm not obsessed with designer brands? I'll admit that I've made some new friends this year (I'm in high school) that like to shop and enjoy buying designer, especially at bargains. The issue is that my mother thinks that I'm getting to believe that the clothes I own determine my "self worth," but she won't listen when I tell her that I do have confidence in myself, with or without nice clothes, and that it's just nice to have a few nice pieces of clothing. This all began when I asked for a Juicy jacket for Christmas (that wa 40% off!) and she refused. This isn't about the money, mind you. It's a matter of principle for her. The only other designer item I have is a pair of Silver jeans, so it's not as if I've spent too much money on clothes. This is just one thing I'd like for Christmas, and I'm already donating $150 dollars to a charity fund for gifts for young children at Christmas, so it's also not as if I'm not grateful for what I receive. It's also not like I'm asking for Ugg boots (which all my friends are/have already been doing. How can I convince my mother I'm not a materialistic person? How many times, allioop, must I say, IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY!!! She just doesn't want me to have it! I could easily buy the jacket, but she would be extremely angry with me.

Where are the cheap clothes shops in Los Angeles? I am in LA for 2 days and have heard about all these cheap designer clothes, Diesel jeans etc. Other people I speak to say that you have to travel 90 mins out of LA to get to bargains - can anyone enlighten me?
what are your favorite online clothing? i am an addicted online shopper and some of the stores i have been visiting lately are: urbanoutfitters.com delias.com heritage1981.com forever21.com wetseal.com charlotterusse.com 15dollarstore.com alloy.com rue21.com fredflare.com gojane.com victoriassecret.com mandee.com oldnavy.com gap.com lulusfashionlounge.com etc and ive been getting bored with it! any new suggestions are greatly appreciated. my style is pretty eclectic but also very casual. and by the way i am definitley a bargain shopper... i love designer labels but cant afford to shop there but by all means if you find a great site with deals on designer items i am all for it so keep that in mind ;) thanks!
Do you find that cheap clothes arn't really worth it? I absolutely love shopping in primark because the clothes are actually really fashionable and you can get a good bargain. But then you get them home and they don't even last one wash! The only clothes I have ever bought and LOVED and LASTED for years have been my designer labels or the better quality shops. My all saints and river island jeans have lasted me about 3 years and haven't hardly even faded. Do you think sometimes it is worth spending a little bit more to get more quality. I can understand if people literally can not afford to, but if you can then why not?

Is this a breach of contract under the sale of goods act, or under the Trades description act? I bought a pair of trainers from a shop that sells designer goods and brand names at a far cheaper price than the market leaders. They appeared to be in perfect condition. The shop does not have signs saying it sells seconds. Nowhere does it say that it has no returns policy or refund policy. Nowhere does it say that it sells second hand goods. I wear the trainers. I undertake no unusual activity besides walking. Less than a week later the soles of the trainers come loose. I glue them back on using UHU. A day later the trainer sole comes loose again. I wished to avoid having to return them as they appeared to be a really good bargain and there was no other pairs of the same trainer. Then that day, after the glue had set and the soles were fixed the trainers actually fell to pieces. The leather pices that went from soles over the trainer above the toes snapped. The spongy stuff split, One whole side of a trainer came off, and the entire sole of the other came off as I was left my house and headed for the local shop. I took them straight to the shop and was told that the shop policy is that there are no refunds or a returns policy. I was told I would not be getting my money back. Obviously on the inside I was very angry and wished to severely assault the shopkeeper and the owner of the shop. So I left with the defective goods before I acted in an unsavoury manner. What are my rights regarding this, assuming all the above is completely factual.
Anyone else addicted to consignment shops? Just curious. There is one near my office that only takes in items from designer lables or more upscale stores. There is a ton of traffic in and out, so I went in and looked and found a ton of great buys (many still with tags and never used). Now I can't make myself pay full price for something. I have a toddler who has a knack for getting food or juice on me, a dog who never fails to jump up on only new clothes or hose, and my job is mostly office but as a prop mngr there are days that an emergency comes up and I would hate to ruin a pricey outfit. I just got a brand new pair of Rockports today on my lunch break for $10. I have no issue with buying clothes for my son, but now I just can't stand to pay full price for clothes for myself. I do still spurge on a new handbag (my one vice) now and then but mostly just use the savings for stuff for my son or the house. There is just something about finding a bargain. A few freinds that shop there say the same. No, I didn't mean overspending at all. I don't due credit cards period so if I can't flat out buy it then it doesn't enter the house. That is how hubby and I were able to buy our first home with 30% down-I haven't used a credit card in probably 6 years.
Do you buy clothes from your local Charity Shop ...? or would you be mortified to be seen in one? I reckon about half the clothes I possess have come from Charity shops. I'm not generally into designer clothes, I can't afford to buy them even if I wanted to, but sometimes I find Levi jeans and Next tshirts in a charity shop for 1/10th of the price you would pay new. I wouldn't buy tatty things with stains or rips but why pay a fortune if you don't have to? I just love mooching around and finding a bargain. I also buy DVDs and CDs for next to nothing and sometimes books although my bookshelf is full right now with books I haven't read.

MOMS: Do you think there might be a market for this? I just planned a Valentine's Day party for 12ish complete with balloons, streamers, candles, invitations, wall hangings, rose petals, plates, cups, napkins, ETC for about $35. Had I been a little less lazy and a little more frugal, it could have been at least $10 less-- enough for munchies or a couple little caeser's pizzas! I have experience working at a party supplies store aimed primarily at children's/themed parties, where everything costs A FORTUNE and I was able to find all of the same products with a little extra work-- but how many working parents have time to bargain hunt? I am thinking about trying to earn a little extra money party planning/shopping for parents who just don't have the time or the inclination. I'm not an interior designer or anything, so I'd only ask for the money for whatever supplies they want, and about $10-$15 for actually doing the work. I'd also be willing to put up the decorations myself and help out at the party if the client wishes, for about minimum wage to compensate for the time. I am a 20 year old college student, and I live in a diverse middle class neighborhood (ethnically and economically). Does this sound like something that might interest time-strapped parents that have a child's birthday looming? I chose that cost with the idea in mind that I'm a 20 year old with no qualifications as a party planner, just organizational skills and an eye for decoration. I'd certainly be open to charging a little bit more, but I definitely need some way of competing with more qualified (and more expensive) professionals.
Traveling NYC? I live in NJ and have company coming to visit NYC from California. Given they are from the west coast, I plan on showing them the landmarks and sites in NYC but I also want to show them more--something that will be fun and will make them remember NYC. If someone could tell me some good places (all price ranges) for shopping, souveneirs, restaurants and places to see, I would really appreciate it! P.S. They have kids ranging from 5-14 so kid-friendly places would be preferable. **Also, any good shopping advice? I don't mean knock off handbags or designer end either--I know China Town/Broadway St has jewelry stores, any other places like that with good deals/bargains?**
Questions about Cafepress.com, and selling custom t-shirts online in general? I'm 15 and a very experienced graphic designer, and I'm looking to make some extra cash. I was considering opening up an online shop at CafePress.com, since it gets a lot of traffic compared to most other sites. The only problem is that it's a bit pricey for the customer. Most t-shirts there sell for about $25-$30. If the t-shirt was well made and unique, would people over look an unattractive price? Would it be worth it to find a less popular site with a better bargain for the customers? Also, just how much money could someone make on that site if their t-shirts were store-quality?
bridalgown.com, has anyone used this to get gown quotes? I got the book Bridal Bargains from the library. In the book, they suggest that you go to bridalgown.com to get price quotes on a dress. I know the dress that I want (designer & style #), so I did it. Well a "prescreened gown discounter" emailed me today and said that they can get me the dress for $935 + shipping. If I go to the trunk show of an authorized bridal shop it would be about $1200. Has anyone used bridalgown.com? and bought a dress from it? what would you do if you were in my place?
Is it coincidence between the recession, year end bargain prices, and the junk they are trying to sell? I was shopping for a pair of shoes today to replace a worn out pair. Thinking it may be a great time to shop with the year end bargain prices going on through the stores. I wanted to get the same ones but of course they were discontinued. Then I thought maybe they would have something comparable to the ones I wanted to replace. Well, not to my surprise everything in the store was "junk". Its nice to see that the stores were selling items at a fraction of the original cost but the crap they were selling wasn't worth paying even a discount rate. I came to the conclusion we are in a recession because the stores aren't selling. The stores aren't selling because nobody wants to buy today's crappy styles, even at a discount rate. The shoes I was looking for. They need no improvement. They were good looking, comfortable, and the right price I would pay for them even without a discount. I am all for change and new things but there are some things that need no change and like my shoes I want to replace. I blame all the worlds engineers, and designers for the recession we are in. If they would keep at least a few old style items available, maybe this would stimulate the shoppers like myself to actually spend money. Cars, Clothing designers all think we need something "new" all the time. Guess what... In some cases we do not. New styles are getting worse and worse all the time!
