I need tips on designer handbag shopping on Canal Street?

Can I get arrested? What brands do they have? What are the apartments, alleys, and other places where the good fakes are sold like? Is it scary, buying a fake bag? Is the quality any good? What is the buying experience like? Have you ever had a bad experience buying on Canal Street? Thanks!

1. Wow... you make it sound so illegal and scary to buy a fake bag. They sell bags in the open in plain sight of the cops. Buying a fake bag is like buying milk, you walk in, pick what you want, buy it and you're done. No, you won't get arrested, they have mostly coach, louis vuitton and gucci, I wouldn't recommend going inside an apartment or alley, especially if it's lonely (unless you wanna get mugged or worse). Just buy it on the street. As for quality, it's really extreme, could be really good and last you for years or it could start coming apart in one day. Meh, not really as long as you don't do what some of the tourists do and actually believe the bags are real then you'll be fine.
2. The only scary thing about it is the enormous amount of people! Everything is done outside in the open on the side walks. Definitely try to bargain! Prices can always be negotiated, especially if you're buying more than one object. Have fun and good luck!
