Why Do College Girls Use Designer Shopping Bags For Their Books?
I don't know if it is on your campus but I see it where I am all the time. Some girls use "Gucci", "Victoria's Secret, "GAP"... to name a few, shopping bags for their books. What is the point?? Can they not afford a real book bag? Do they want to let everyone know where they shop??

- That's weird. Yeah, it's a strange status symbol, I guess. Although that's still better than those ugly quilted purses everyone was carrying around last year. I hope the shopping bag thing catches on on my campus.
- Not all college girls do this, please don't over-generalize. When I was in college I used whatever bag worked, not something I could use to showoff. The ones that use the Gucci, et al are just being snobs and showoffs most of the time.
- That happened a lot in my high school, not so much at my uni. I think the HS girls wanted to show that they shopped at the "cool" places. At my uni a lot of girls have the big purses with their sorority name on them.
- It's, like, so people know you're, like, rich and stuff. <end sarcasm>
- My friends and I used backpacks or messanger bags when we needed to carry several books. I also just carried my books and a pen when I was only going to one class. I think these girls are just proving what is more important to them.
- lol i know its sad my friend does it. Maybe they think people will respect them more haha loosers!!
